About
Core Electronics is powered by the maker movement. I hear you ask "what's a maker?". in short, a "maker" is someone that creates "stuff". Such as practical projects around the home (a project that tweets you when your plants are thirsty), or a sprinkler system that is connected to live weather forecasts to avoid unnecessary usage. Neat! With that said, the maker movement is also largely driven by the educational sector. Australian educators have long understood that the next generation of employment must be adapt with innovation. The ability to identify an unmet need, and make a solution. Educators often lean to maker electronics and hardware for sources of inspiration which encourage the ability to "think" like an innovator. Here at Core Electronics we are partnered with the most influential brands of the maker movement, including Sparkfun, Adafruit, Raspberry Pi and Arduino to name just a few of the forty plus we are partnered with. We create our own educational tutorials, projects and videos to help people climb technical hurdles. We have regular educational workshops at our offices in Newcastle, where we show people face-to-face how to write code, build circuits and use modern tech that most schools / Universities are yet to get their paws on. And finally, we're powered by makers, for makers. Yep - this is the full time job of several staff in sunny Newcastle NSW. We're here to help, send us an email or give us a call.

Great Service from Core. Just ordered some more PLA filament and some Micro:bit motor drivers. Both arrived the next day. I've ordered these and many other Microbit add-on boards in the past for various school projects and Core provides good phone support and very extensive resources on their site. Well done.

We do that too! 3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional physical objects from a digital model. It all starts with a virtual design of the object you want to create. This design is made in a CAD (Computer Aided Design) file using a 3d Modelling Program or with the use of a 3D Scanner. It can 'print' in plastic, metal, nylon and over a hundred other materials. 3D printing can be used for making trivial models like the over-printed Yoda, yet it can also print manufacturing prototypes, end user products, aircraft engine parts and more!
