About Taree

A small town situated on the mid north coast of New South Wales, approximately 310 km’s from Sydney and 670 km’s from Brisbane.
Located close to the Manning River Valley it is an excellent base for exploring the many beautiful natural surrounds and attractions. Scenic drives around Taree are some of the best in NSW.
An icon of the city centre is the World’s largest Oyster or “The Big Oyster.” The “Oyster” is an artifact based on local produce, as the Manning River has produced 175,200 oysters during recent years. A highlight of the town is the Manning Regional Art Gallery and Manning Entertainment Centre has seen the likes of the Australian Ballet and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
The Ellenboroush Falls, at 200 metres, are one of the longest single drop waterfalls in the southern hemisphere and the 641 steps to the bottom are not for the faint hearted.
