Bundaberg, a Queensland city located on the Burnett River approximately 385 km’s north of the state capital Brisbane and 14 km’s inland from the coast. It is part of Queensland’s broader Wide Bay – Burnett region.
The Bundaberg region is located in the heart of a rich sugar and horticultural belt supported by a growing manufacturing sector. In fact, Bundaberg produces one fifth of Queensland's sugar crop and the city is surrounded by a green sea of rich sugar cane. Most of the raw sugar is exported.
Bundaberg is also home to leading drinks manufacturer Bundaberg Brewed Drinks most popular for its “Ginger Beer” and now other delicious flavoured spritzers.
With the Southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef just off the shores, and ancient mariners, the turtles returning annually to nest at Mon Repos Beach, Bundaberg also attracts plenty for the passing traveller.
